What Is an FBO, or Private Terminal?

A private terminal, often called an FBO, is a separate facility handling private flights away from the main airport terminal. Passengers arrive shortly before departure, complete security discreetly and walk to the aircraft in minutes.
Arrival
You are met on arrival, luggage is taken to the aircraft, and there are no queues for check in.
Security
Security is completed discreetly within the private terminal, with immigration handled there for international flights.
Waiting facilities
Lounges, meeting rooms and refreshments are standard, though most passengers spend very little time in them.
Boarding
Boarding is on foot from the terminal to the aircraft, usually a short walk across the apron.
